Blade inspections from above: faster and safer with drones

New technology is making our work smarter and safer. Soon, we’ll be using drones to inspect wind turbine blades. The drone can fly close to the turbine and capture ultra-sharp images to reveal any damage or wear. That means technicians no longer have to climb up unnecessarily, making the job faster, safer, and more efficient.

“The drone saves us time and reduces risks,” says blade technician Ricardo. “We can analyze the images right away and instantly see where maintenance is needed. Plus, with an infrared camera, we can detect temperature differences — useful for future solar panel inspections too.”
