FRESH PRODUCE, CLEAN ENERGY

At the Gilfresh site in Loughgall, Co. Armagh, installing a wind turbine was a matter of when, not if. Managing director Thomas Gilpin wants the business to be as productive in renewable energy as it is in fresh produce. Rengineers delivered the turbine on a turnkey basis in 2017.

Thomas continues: “In the summer of 2016, a Rengineers sales manager came over to discuss their services, including turnkey projects for certain wind turbines. We were definitely interested. We know all about vegetables, but not about wind turbines. We wanted to bring in a specialist who knew wind turbines inside out, and Rengineers ticked all the boxes.”

Now that the turbine has been installed, Rengineers also maintains it under a Garant Contract. Thomas says: “This gives us a feeling of certainty. We can concentrate on our business and on the quality of our produce, while Rengineers takes care of our wind turbine.”
