Repowering Kirkmay Farm: greater capacity and peace of mind with Rengineers

Paying a hefty deposit and then hearing nothing more… For Drumore Farm, one bad experience was enough to ensure that, when it came to their next investment, one thing took priority above all else: trust. No empty promises but an established company that does what it says and stays involved even after completion. That search led the Scottish family-run business to Rengineers.

Regaining trust first

Like many agricultural businesses, Drumore Farm faces the challenge of becoming more sustainable. A new wind turbine fits in with this, but due to a previous bad experience, the family was especially careful in choosing the next the company to partner with. Things went wrong with a previous supplier. After paying the deposit, they heard nothing more.

“You pay a deposit, and then you never see them again. So next time, you want to go with an established name.”

So, for its next investment, Drumore Farm wanted to know exactly who it was doing business with. Not just today, but especially in ten or fifteen years’ time.

No sales pitch, just a proven provider

The search began online. How long has a company been in business? What experience does it have? And can it demonstrate which installations it manages? Rengineers stood out as an established player with a proven track record. A recommendation from the agricultural community then provided the final nudge to start a conversation. But ultimately, it wasn’t the online research that made the family choose rengineers, it was the face-to-face contact.

A handshake between family businesses

At Drumore Farm, they place great value on doing business on a personal level, and that fits perfectly with the way Rengineers operates.

“It’s a family business, just like ours. We’re on the same wavelength. We speak the same language.”

That sense of recognition makes all the difference – there’s no distance between supplier and customer, just people who understand family businesses and look to the future together.

“We’re a family business; they’re a family business. We’re on the same level. Here, a handshake is still worth more than a hefty contract.”

Long-term certainty

The wind turbine is now operational and covered by the Garant Contract which means that Rengineers’ involvement does not end once installation is complete. It is precisely this continuity that was a key factor in Drumore Farm’s decision. The company is looking beyond just the first few years of their investment and the aim is to continue the partnership in the long term.

“I hope we’ll still be working together in ten or fifteen years’ time. I’m fully committed to this financially, and the feeling is mutual.”

For Drumore Farm, therefore, the value is not just in a turbine that is up and running, it is about the certainty that, behind that turbine, there is a partner who is always accessible, takes responsibility and thinks about the long term.

A partnership that goes beyond the turbine

Technology is important. So is efficiency. But when it comes to a long-term investment, it all starts with trust. For Drumore Farm, this means choosing a partner with experience, continuity and the same entrepreneurial mindset. A strong partnership that begins with a good conversation and a handshake, and will continue for many years to come.   Are you also looking for greater peace of mind regarding your wind turbine?
